Sunrise Christmas Day and Reflections of 2009

This Christmas season, we were very blessed to give and share with others, the real meaning of Christmas. And in turn we were blessed by our family members by their Christmas phone calls, meaningful gifts, and being told how much we are loved, as Christmas is Love. Thank you children and friends for helping make our Christmas very special. Our prayer for each of you is to find the real meaning of Christmas, by giving out of love, no matter how big or small the gift may be. "Give and it shall be given unto you, pressed down, shaken together and overflowing." Now what more could a person ask for!!! Have a wonderful 2010 New Year.

Family joining us for Christmas dinner

It wouldn't be Christmas without family around. I was glad Tanya, Jon and Max joined us for Christmas dinner this year. And it was great to see they enjoyed the turkey dinner. They were good eaters and some even had two plates!! Glad you enjoyed the Christmas dinner, and thank you for the gifts!!! Happy New Year to you all too!!

Jerry's First Lionel Train

After 65 years, Jerry finally got his first Lionel train for Christmas 2009. It was fun to watch him put the tracks together, hook up the transformer, watch the smoke roll from the smokestack, and see the light shine from the locomotive as it goes around the track. The twelve days before Christmas he opened a small gift every night that could be used in the scenery building. He now dreams of building a train room. Sounds like fun!!

Our newly remodeled kitchen and dining room

We are enjoying our freshly painted, new shelving, new floor and kitchen island in our kitchen and dining room. I find it very enjoyable to sit around the table and visit. I am enjoying the kitchen island very, very much. It's great to be able to visit with company and prepare meals too!! Great investment. I love my "delicious red" painted kitchen cabinets. (name of paint) We had fun putting together the kitchen and dining room. We opened up a closet and put in a china hutch which we like very much too. It's fun to entertain now!!

Redecorating Jerry's Bath

I wanted to updated Jerry's bathroom, before, our guests arrived. He loves taking pictures of the birds, so we have several bird pictures displayed. Birds he has taken in our yard. And also a new vanity, added a fresh touch to an old bathroom!!

Sign In Sheet for Treadmill workouts

I decided that we needed to sign in and record our progress each time we did our treadmill workout. My goal is to keep us honest and motivated and see our progress. So far so good. It's been six days so far. It's a start!

New Clubhouse at the The Oaks

Charles and Heidi, Peggy and Tom came to visit us this fall and stayed at our private, secluded RV Park at The Oaks. Charles suggested we put in a clubhouse, so we are in the process. We have the main clubhouse ready for use presently. We are using it everyday for our exercise on the treadmill. We are enjoying it immensely!! Thanks Charles for the idea. Next time you are here you can enjoy it with us with free coffee, TV, sitting around the Liar's Table, laundry facilities and bathhouse. Great idea!!!

The Moore Family

The Moore family, friends of ours from CA visited and spent one night with us. They are returning to Birmingham, AL to live and work. They have four girls and another girl that they have know since she was 11 years old is going to live with them and finish college in AL. The girls stayed in the MH, and had a ball, watching movies, playing on their laptops, and did not want the adults around. We were intruding their space when we went to check on them. Terry and Lisa stayed in the spare room in the house with us and we visited, and caught up on the times. We enjoyed having all of you!! Their next stop was Mobile, AL where they will get to have fun staying at another friends beach house on the bay for four days. Sounds like a great vacation!!! Email us when you get to your final destination.

Friscos Grill & Pub

Our grandson treated us to steak dinner before we left at Frisco's Grill & Pub. He paid for the dinner out of his earnings from working at the campground. Thank you Zach for treating us to dinner, we enjoyed seeing you again and tell your Mom & Dad and Ashley hi for us too. Have a great senior year!! And no tickets or accidents in your new truck!!! We love you!

Crazy Sister

One of the fun things I like to do with my sister is go to second hand stores. This was a new consignment store that opened up in a small town close to her. She found this dress that she loved, she had to try it on. As you can see it looked more like a halloween costume. When she came out of the dressing room, Jerry took a picture of her, which I had to share. Jerry was good sport and went along with us for the drive. We originally went to MO to meet our friends at the campground, however, Charles got sick and they went home. So, Jerry was stuck with us girls. But, I'm sure he enjoyed himself too.

Birthday Boys

We arrived in MO and the next day were birthdays of my grandson, Zach, 17 years old, and my sister's grandson, Jimmy. Jimmy's mom cooked a delicious mexican dinner and Grandma Mary made a white birthday cake, covered with fresh strawberrys and topped with real whipping cream. Yum, yum! We had a fun time over at the diner at the campgound. Jimmy got a pair of Hannah Montanna underwear from his sister that he had to model. As you can see he really got into it!!

RV Parks Visited

We stayed at Lazy L Rv Park and a KOA on our trip to MO. Jerry tried to space them apart, so we would only have to drive 200-300 miles per day. On an average we spent approximately $30 per each night. Each park was usually just an exit away from the main freeway. We recommend this kind of travel to anyone.

Travel through different States

As you can see from one state to another, the terrain looks the same. I think this on the most beautiful drives as I love the divided highways with the the grass and trees as dividers.

MH trip to MO

The weather on this trip was beautiful this year. No threats of tornados or rain. We were told that the weather in MO was great this year, in the 80's and 85's. After our last trip a couple of years ago, we though sure. But it was great weather straight through. Glad we made the trip.

Chockataw, OK

In our travels to MO we saw seveal indian casino's with RV parks. They were beautifully built, several thousands of dollars to build these. We didn't stop this trip but perhaps next trip we will stay at the RV park which is now owned by KOA. Their buffets in the casino's are usually pretty good. Of course we next win anything, but it is still fun.

Blue Jays Migrate to the Bird Sanctuary

We have never seen such a variety of birds and all at one time. We have hours of enjoyment just watching them come and go into what we now call our yard the bird sanctuary. They love the food and water and sprinklers provided.

The Bird Sanctuary

They even have their own feeds and bird baths! They love them!

Cardinals Bird Sanctuary

The red cardinals love the Barker bird sanctuary. We get hours of enjoyment watching and listening to them make their bird calls and chase each other out of the yard and the trees
