Cedar Fever

As much as we enjoy the trees, I have a case of "Cedar Fever". Which in short is an allergy that comes from the pollen of the Cedar trees, or actually Cypress trees. I thought I had a cold for a week and someone told me I might actually have what is called Cedar Fever. I went to the doctor yesterday and sure enough that is what I have, and am now being treated with antibotics for approximately a week. We were told welcome to Central Texas, the allergy capitol of the world. We have take the good with the bad!!! But, I'm sure I will be well in no time.

Monument Hill

This was beautiful state park to see on one of sight seeing days. We plan to go back and take our friends with us and enjoy lunch in the park. The overlook is 200 feet above the Colorado River. What a great view!

Old Bridge

We drove over this old bridge to see one of the painted churches. On the way back across the bridge we saw the sign "weak bridge". Great warning!!!! It was a neat bridge though!

Painted Churches

We're have been out sight seeing, and ran across a small town Schullenburg, TX, which has a painted churches tour. We saw some beutiful churches built in the 1800's that have been painted and undergoing church restorations. There is about 8 painted churches in this small town. This is only one of them. All the churches were open and we were able to take pictures of the beautifully painted walls and ceilings inside the churches as well as the outside. Very beautiful to see. Each church has a church restoration fund inside to donate too to continue the work on the churches.

Cute Squirrels , but aggressive

See what I mean!! These darn squirrels love the bird seed as much as the birds. You can walk right up to them and they don't care as long as they can eat. You can tell this one hasn't gone without!!

Yellow Finches

We are really enjoying the Yellow finches in our yard. We have at least 75 finces a day that come to be fed. They love the food. They hang out in the oak trees and every few minutes fly back to the bird feeders for more food. Jerry is filling up the bird feeders once a day. Right now they are about half full. The squirrels like the feed equally as well, so we try to run them off so we can enjoy the birds. We're looking forward to seeing what other kinds of birds we will have this winter. They're is supposed to be many kinds.

Newest addition to our House

We just had a new 6' white fence up and it really has made a difference. We love the privacy. Jerry is planting a garden directly behind it for Spring.
