The Keller home was built on a 640-acre tract of land in 1820. It was called "Ivy Green" because the house and surrounding trees and fences were covered with beautiful English Ivy. The main house is of Southern Virginian cottage construction, with four rooms on the first floor bisected by a wide hall. Each room has an individual fireplace. Upstairs there are three rooms connected by a hall. The birthplace cottage is situated east of the main house consisting of a large room with a beautiful bay window and play room.
