Old Mill Square

The Old Mill is functioning today just as it did when it was built in the 1800's, and is the most photographed in the country. The Old Mill is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Old Mill Square is a working example of the Smokies' pioneer days where you'll find a variety of craftspeople practicing their trades every day. We saw beautiful pottery made by in-house potters, they mixed the clay, sculpted each piece, glazed and fired each one. The Square is also home to the Creamery, Potting Shed, Toy Bin and Farmhouse Kitchen. The Square was beautifully lit in the evenings as we strolled through the shops enjoying the homemade ice cream.
